9 Arsenal players who could be sold to fund Mikel Arteta's squad

Arsenal fans have long grown used to hearing the phrase ‘transfer war chest’ banded about as the summer rolls around.

And this year has proved no different, with reports having surfaced that the Gunners will have just £50 million to spend on improving their squad ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Given the Gunners have just finished a massive 37 points behind champions Manchester City, supporters do not believe that will be anywhere near enough to reduce the gap to Pep Guardiola’s team.

But Arsenal can add to that transfer kitty by selling players and bringing in extra cash, something that looks likely over the coming months as the club revamps a squad left behind by Arsene Wenger.

We take a look at some of the players who could be moved on to add extra funds to the transfer kitty this summer.

Hector Bellerin

Ideally Arsenal would not want to part company with their Spanish right-back, but if he is open to a move away and should the right time offer arrive the club may agree to cash in.

In terms of worth, Bellerin in one of Arsenal’s prized assets and with clubs such as Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona interested, they would need a deal well in excess of £50 million to do business.

Bellerin’s progress has flatlined somewhat in the past 18 months and he has fallen out with sections of the fanbase following comments made about Arsenal Fan TV.

A lot of what happens with him this summer will depend on his actions. Should he really push to get away from north London - as he did last summer - Arsenal may decide this time not to fight so hard to keep him.

Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal want to keep Ramsey, but they are once again facing up to a very difficult decision with one of their star players.
